About the Forum

On September 20-22 the Volgograd Region will host the IX International Forum of Public Diplomacy «Dialogue on the Volga: peace and mutual understanding in the XXI century». The main venue of the event will be the stadium «Volgograd Arena».
According to the Committee of Economic Policy and Development of the Volgograd region, the forum will be held in a mixed format: the program includes both offline and online events. Discussions, strategic sessions and roundtables are scheduled, the participants of which will consider the themes of «Russia and Compatriots Abroad: Dialogue on the Volga», «Twin Cities Interaction», «Linking Generations: the youth participation in projects to preserve the historical memory» and others.
The opening ceremony of the forum and the panel discussion «International Youth Cooperation: Participation Experience and Prospects for Development» will be held on September 21. Importantly enough, Volgograd young people take an active part in the implementation of development projects of the region, the ideas and opinions of the new generation are taken into account when making decisions. So, at the meetings of Governor Andrei Bocharov with young Volgograd residents the idea to hold a large-scale festival #ThreeFour was born. The initiative was successfully implemented and continued: by a joint decision, the festival will become an annual event.
This year, in addition to students, school students aged 12-17 will also take part in the Dialogue on the Volga Forum. The organizers have prepared for them a historical and diplomatic game, presentations of books and the magazine «Attache», created by pupils of the city youth centre. Also, high school students will speak at the conference «From Collegium to Ministry».
The International Forum of Public Diplomacy «Dialogue on the Volga: peace and understanding in the 21st century» is a platform for interaction between representatives of government, science, business community and the public of the Russian Federation and its foreign partners to strengthen cooperation, expand international public relations and foreign openness for the most effective building of long-term relations, protecting national foreign policy objectives and a better understanding of the values and institutions of their own and other states.
The issues of international economic cooperation will be the key topics of the forum «Forward to export», the main events of which will take place on September 21-22 also on the Volgograd Arena. The region is consistently developing foreign economic ties, and this work fully meets the objectives of the national project «International cooperation and export».
We would like to add that «Dialogue on the Volga» has been held annually since 2014. The initiative of Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov to organize such a platform was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the federal agency Rossotrudnichestvo.
